Starting CGA I had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted from this season. I knew I wanted intentional discipleship, I wanted to grow into a leader that leads like Jesus, I wanted to grow in boldness and confidence in my gifts, and I wanted to grow in intimacy with the Father. Basically, I planned to grow A LOT in the next eight months.

But it didn’t take long for those expectations to be challenged. What I quickly realized was that I was focusing so much on how I wanted to grow, that I forgot about what I’m actually here to do.

I’m here at CGA to make disciples.

I’m here on Earth to make disciples.

In the Great Commission when it says “Go and make disciples” we often think that it means physically leaving to go somewhere else. But if you actually look at the original text, the word “Go” translates into “As you go.”

The Lord doesn’t just tell us to go somewhere else to make disciples, He tells us to make disciples as we live our lives wherever we are.

My expectations of growth in this season weren’t a bad thing at all. I actually think it is really healthy to set your sights on how we can look more like Jesus. But I was missing the biggest component of that.

In this season I’m going to be intentional. I want to pour out everything I have to those around me. I want to freely give away everything I’m learning in this program to build up other disciples so they can pour out to others.

I’m going to intentionally share Jesus with everyone I meet by living life in abundance. With my co-workers at Panera and the customers that I interact with. With the cashier at the grocery store or the desk worker at my gym. I want everyone that meets me to see the Father and desire to know Him more.

Being intentional means making a choice every day to live the way Christ lived, to follow Him, and love the way He loved. What an honor that we can be a representation of Christ to others.

I don’t know about you, but I’m choosing to accept this commission AS I GO.

Will you join me?
